Greetings Neighbors,
Kids have been gracing the Farm of late with their uniquely joyful cries and laughter. Last week Ollie got a splinter from her sandal before even stepping out of the car. I could see the look on her father’s face: “How’s this going to turn out? Maybe bringing my kid to the work party wasn’t such a good idea after all.” Held tight in dad’s arms, Ollie let me pinch and squeeze until the sliver popped out. She and Rye spent hours collecting red clover blossoms and delivering them to the garden crew to to mark the spots where we’d planted bean and squash seeds in the Three Sisters patch. All the while the storms skirted around us, and we finished the planting before supper. It turns out young Rye has taken a liking to one of our feasting songs, Fiddler’s Green, and by the second time through the chorus he had gotten over his shyness and sang on pitch with the adults.
Please consider joining us for one of our two weekly events:
Barn Choir practice (beginner’s welcome). Tuesdays 5:30-7pm, then a simple supper potluck (soup and/or a hearty salad from the Farm will be served). Links to the first week’s songs here:
Farm Frolic: Sundays 3-6pm followed by Frolic Supper at 6pm. A main dish will be served from the Farm plus anything you bring along to share. We rely on neighborly hands to keep the farm afloat. There are always projects for different abilities, including indoor/shaded/sitting.
Gratitude Feasts: The first Sunday of every month at 3:30pm. The next Feast will be July 7th. A hearty meal of Farm Food, served family style, followed by an old-fashioned barn dance.
This food is offered as a gift to anyone who is hungry for any reason. There is no financial barrier to access for any of our events.
We look forward to seeing you at the Farm.

Adam
